YIELDS OF COMPANIES Maliakipawa (Marlborough).—Last week 6207,. Lawsori's Flat (Kumara). —For two weeks ended July 14, 83oz. 4dwt. of retorted gold from No. 1 face only. In future sluicing operations will take place on two faces alternately. GOLDFIELDS DREDGING Tho first annual report of the Goldfields Dredging Company, Limited, which is operating on the Shotover River, shows a loss of £1931. out of which, the directory state, allowance must be made for tho cost incurred: to date in shifting .the dredgo to the Big Beach claim. Jfho dredge entered the Gorge on June'l and travelled 66 chains to July 13. It is expected that it will be through the Gorge and on the' company's claim early in August. Dredging operations were carried on from Little Tucker Beach to the Gorge from August 7, 1933, onward. A total of 1,225,300 cubic yards dredged yielded 5-17 ounces of gold, which was in excess of the amount expected owing to tho fact that a considerable portion was through old tailings and ground which had been previously dredged by former companies. The proceeds of gold won were £3684, against expenses, £5623. Stock, representing spare parts for the dredgo at cost, amounts to £1192. The paid capital of tho company is £30,000. REPORTS OF MANAGERS Maliakipawa (Marlborough).—Tho diagonal drive from No. 2 crosscut west has been advanced to 51ft. from start of crosscut. Tho vertical wall, which.we were following, has turned slightly to tho west, and is not now visible in this drive. There is 2ft. of bottom showing on tho right-hand sido of tho face, which drops abruptly to ISin. below the floor about tho centre, and continues below the floor to the left hand side. The wash now- contains very large boulders, proving definitely that this drive is in the gutter. Blocking strip (No. 1) on right hand side of leading face has been driven a total distance of 32ft. south of No. 3 crosscut west. This has been carrying good gold until the last few feet, when the bottom rose until there is only about 2ft. of wash left in the drive, and the values crossed_, over to the other side of the leading' face. This is stopped at present. ]3locking strip (No. 3) on left hand sido of leading face has been taken out for 13ft. and has yielded very <iood coarse gold, for the last few foot. This is apparently the continuation of the run of gold which was in No. 1 strip above. .The cubic yardage for the month was 488.
