ONEHUNGA AND COMRADES Comrades and Onehunsa met at Western Springs under bad conditions. In epite of tho muddy around, however, a fast pace was maintained, and nluv ewiinc from end to end. A number of easy chances was missed by both forward lines. Onehunca lettinir more opportunities pass than its opponents. Although Oneliunga chanced over one goal in tho load. Comrades was unlucky on at least two occasions. Territorially there was Utile to choose between .the two teams. J Gnvan. of Oneliunga. was responsible for some exceptionally fine saves, the Comrades line puttinc more sting into its shots, while Pace, the Comrades custodian, had mostly easy shots to deal with. Webt-ler and Blocklev were very sound, the latter showinc up better in his placements. R. Lindsay was I lie. hardest, worker on the field, and. ultluuich sometimes out of position he proved a. stumbliiur block to many of Comrades' promising raids. M. Lindsay was inclined to roam, and plavcd better in the second half. With Cummine and Donaldson absent. Onehunca's forward line was not cohesive. Although A hern and Chatham bustled the defence, and A. Gavan distributed the ball well, many easv chances were missed, and Saunders. .Tones and Hooten. of Comrades, cleared with ease. Jones did not nrovide bin usual thrust in the Comrades backs, but lie made his presence felt. when, in tho second half he went to the pivot position, liny ward was always a spoiler, nnd showed up more than Euan, who played a steady came. In tho forwards Evan passed judiciously to Cole, who swung the ball out to his wings. Good combination by Foreman and Fletcher mado cround on tho left, while Evans centred woll.
