REQUEST FROM HOSPITAL [from our own correspondent] TAURANGA, Saturday The engineer, Mr. J. R. Bongard, in his monthly report to tho Tauranga Electric-Power Board, stated that 13 new service lines had been erected in the board's area. Inquiries for new load continued at a very satisfactory rate. It was evident that many consumers intended making more extensivo use of tho service, to obtain the advantage of the low rates for current now available. Tho secretary of the Tauranga Hospital Board wrote stating that at a recent meeting of the board references were mado to the high cost of electrical services in the Tauranga Hospital, and he was instructed to ask if the chairman and engineer of the Power Board would confer and suggest any means of cutting down tho present account for current at the Tauranga and Te Puke Hospitals. It was decided to accede to tho request. Tho board authorised the secretary to attend the conference of power board secretaries and town clerks of lighting authorities, to be held in Wellington next September.
