PENWOMEN'S CLUB

birthday celebrations The ninth birthday of tho Penvomen's Club was celebrated on Wednesday evening with an entertainment of music and drama, in her address of welcome to the members and guests, the president, Mrs. Carr Rollett, outlined the aims of tho club and the object for which it was formed. The programme presented included ji pianoforte solo, Grieg's Wedding March, played by Miss Watson; an interpretation of a wedding reception by Miss Leah lloseveare, with an encore number entitled, "Proposals of Marriage." Mrs. Harold King sang "Trees" and "Poi Song." A one-act play, "Flickering Light," produced by Miss Manning, was acted by Mrs. Kingsley, Mrs. Spiuley, Misses Kathleen Teape, Winifred D'O and Mr. Mervyn Rattray. A Scottish reading was interpreted by Mrs. Howie. Among those present were: Mrs. Carr Rollctt, Mrs. Fletcher, Mrs. J. Innes, Mrs. Howie, Mrs. Sydney Smith, Mrs. Ponder, Mrs. McLean, Mrs. Snadden, Mrs. Masefiold, Mrs. J. Baer, Mrs. Hyburn, Mrs. Schmitt, Madame Milburn, Dr. Gladys Rowley, Misses Melville (2), Miss D. Burton, Miss Edel Jones, Miss Innes, Miss Spurling, Miss G. Peacocke, Miss Manning.
