WALKER DEFEATS SHIKINA DISPLAY AT HAMILTON [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Thursday A professional wrestling contest took place between George Walker (14st. 101b.), of Auckland, and Oki Shikina (14st. 101b.), of Japan, in Hamilton j this evening before a packed audience, j Tho bout lasted seven rounds and re- ! suited in a win for Walker by two falls to one. After a series of flying headlocks, Walker dumped Shikina in the fifth round and secured the first fall. Shikina retaliated in the sixth round by throwing Walker several times with headlocks and by using one leg. A fall resulted. When the seventh round commenced, Shikina attempted to repeat the performance, but Walker tripped him and fell on him with a body -press, securing the final fall. The public was somewhat disappointed with the display. The amateur bouts resulted: —H. Mueller (lOst. 71b.), and A. Tombs (lOst. 41b.), both of Hamilton, drew, no falls being recorded; 0. Barr (12st. 41b.), of Hamilton, beat P. Hill (list. Sib.), of To Awamutu, on points; G. Fever (list. 21b.), of Te Aroha, beat A. James (list. 31b.), of Okoroire, by two falls; G. Robinson (Bst. 101b.), of Pirongia, beat J. Hanley (Bst. 71b.) A of Horotiu, by two falls. Mr. Arthur Newton was referee.
MAMOS AND MEYER DRAW BOUT AT INVER CAR GILL [by TKLKGItArrr PRESS ASSOCIATION'! INVERCARGILL. Thursday A professional wrestling contest tonight between Harry Mamos and Fred Meyer resulted in a draw, each man gaining a fall. Meyer was awarded a submission fall in the fifth round and Mamos evened with a fall in tho seventh round with a dump and body press.
