AUSTRALIA AND JAPAN

MR. LATHAM'S MISSION "KINDNESS AND FRIENDSHIP"

(Received May 20. 5.5 p.m.) TOKIO, May 19 In a farewell message to Japan the Federal Attorney-General, Mr. J. G. Latham expresses his appreciation of the sincere kindness and friendship with which his mission has been greeted. "Everything I have seen and heard," Mr. Latham says, "leads me to believe that my mission has accomplished useful and valuable work. I hope that one result of my visit will be to dispel the idea that Australia is a country of vast resources which Australians are not developing."
