FOOTBALLERS INJURED

SEVEN IN HOSPITAL NONE IN SERIOUS CONDITION Several footballers were injured in matches on Saturday, seven players being admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from concussion. Nona is in a serious condition. Three of the footballers admitted to the hospital were injured in Rugby games and four were hurt in League contests. The Rugby players are Edward Ansell, aged 23, of Jackson Street, Onehunga, a member of the Manukau senior team; Derek Bennett, aged 19, of Remuera Road, a College Rifles third grade player; and Lawrence Clark, aged 18, of Clevedon Road, Otahuhu, a Technical Old Boys' fourth grade player. The League footballers injured are Arnold Porteous, aged 23, of Cornwall Park Avenue, One Tree Hill, a Newton senior player; Douglas Munns, aged 20, of New North Road, Gleumore, Manukau player; Peter Corbett, aged-18, of Allenbv Avenue, Devonport, a member of the Devonport fifth grade team; and William John Bates, aged 16, of McLeod Eoad, Te Atatu, a Point Chevalier third intermediate player. A member of the City Rugby lHmtball Club, Opotiki, C. Brown, of Waiotahi, was admitted to the Opotiki Hospital suffering from injuries to the spine received during a match. His condition is not serious.
