REPUTATION OF POLICE
DOUBLE DUTY TO PERFORM "Tho reputation of the police in this Dominion is a high one," remarked Mr. Justice Fair in tho course of the Supremo Court sessions at Palmerston North. Members of the forces he said, had to ' try to do their duty to the Crown and also perform their duty to an accused person by checking his statements and discovering evidence to support his case. At all times, the Judge added, the police worked in favour of both sides.
