THE WAIPA ASSOCIATION [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUT.U, Friday The annual general meeting of the Waipa Hockey Association elected the . following officers for the new season:—Patron, Mr. C. G. Dovvnes; president, Mr. C. S. Davis; vice-presidents. Messrs. J. T. North, and S. A. Empson (Te Awamutu), W. H. Bell (Pirongia), A. T. Cooper (Hairini), C. J. Spiers (Paterangi)', and J. Parr (Te Rahu); secretary. Mr. R. Hinton; treasurer, Mr. C. R. Blomfield; auditor, Mr. W. McGivr em: delegato to/the Waikato Association, Mr. T. P. Craig; grounds' committee, Messrs. Davis, Spiers and Hinton; execu-. live, two representatives from each affiliated club; custodian, Mr. T. Finch. The appointment, of a sole selector was left to the executive. Five teams are expected to compete in the Empson Cup and senior championship competitions, which wiU, commence on May 16. A challenge _ will be issued through the Waikato Association for the Nordon Cup, which Waipa won from Taranaki last season, only to loso again to Hawke's Bay. The annual Waipa-Rodney Shield match will be played at Warkworth 011 June 4. There will be one, possibly two. Waipa teams competing in the Auckland country week tournament nest month.
