ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
ACTIVITIES AT HAMILTON GOOD FINANCIAL POSITION [from our own correspondent"] HAMILTON. Friday A healthy financial position was disclosed in the accounts submitted to the annual meeting of the Hamilton division of the St. John Ambulance last night. Mr. E. A. Houston, divisional superintendent, presided, and reported that members had given first aid in 422 cases during the year. The active membership stood at 22, a decrease of seven. Three members had qualified for five years' service certificates. In the annual competitions, Hamilton again won the South Auckland Cup. It. was decided to organise a series of socials, and Sergeant F. Mitchell, Corporal J. A. Emerson, and Privates W. Whittaker and F. A. Young were appointed a Social committee. Mr. Houston stated that although members of the division did not look for any reward, they would liave appreciated letters of thanks from various sports bodies whose gatherings were attended regularly by ambulance men and for whose members first aid was given when required. Several bodies had neglected to acknowledge, the work of the division, and it was agreed that they be asked if the services of St. John Ambulance wei-e required by them this year.
