DEATH OF VISITOR

OPENING OF INQUEST An inquest into the death of Mr. A. I?. Ponder, of Rugby Street, Christchurch, which occurred at the Auckland Hospital on Thursday evening following an accident in the city that afternoon, was opened by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday, and was adjourned sine die after evidence of identification had been heard. Mr. Ponder was struck by a, motor-truck near tho safety-zone at the corner of Queen Street and Victoria Street East. Tho motor-truck concerned was owned by Turner Brothers, carriers, of Customs Street East, and not by Turners and Growers, Limited, as previously reported.
