CROSSING FATALITY

COMMENT BY CORONER VISIBILITY UNDOUBTEDLY BAD [by teleghaph—press association] INVERCARGILL, Friday In recording a verdict of accidental death, with no blame attachable to anyone, as a result of a level crossing accident at Waikiwi, in which Henry G. Brass, stock buyer, was killed, the coroner, Mr. E. C. Levvey, S.M., remarked that this was another of a series of very regrettable accidents which had been occurring at level crossings. The visibility from the road was undoubtedly bad, ho said, and he thought the attention of local bodies should be drawn to the section of the Public Works Act which empowered such bodies to have obstructions removed so as to provide a. clear 'view of crossings.
