Mr. 'W. T. Hazlelt, president of the Southland Racing Club, who has been in Melbourne for several months, is duo to return to New Zealand next week. The hurdlo horseman J. Smith is attending to the preparation of Mia Stella for the Great Northern Hurdles and is also training London and Chromadyne at Te Rapa.. Reports from Te Rapa state that, the Great Northern Hurdles candidate Princo of Orange is looking exceptionally well at present. His trainer. A. J. Julian, has in his team two rising two-year-olds, one a gelding by Aero from Lorna Doone and the other a colt by Whirlwind from Legality. Valorous, a six-year-old gelding by Valkyrian from Tangiwai, who has not raced since ho was a two-year-old, has also joined'the team. R. Inkson, who was severely injured at Flemington last August, has been granted permission by tho surgeon to the Victoria Racing Club to school horses over hurdles, and last week he made a start by schooling his old favourite Redditch. Redditch has not started in a race since ho came to grief with Inkson in the August Steeplechase, and, before setting out to school him, Inkson, in order to warm up, rode Lyndon, who trotted for two circles on the sand track. Then Inkson mounted Redditch and set out with My Talisman and Plum King in a school over four hurdles. All gave good exhibitions.

Munro, has been suspended for one month for not exercising sufficient care in the Kensington races yesterday. Walla Walla, did not give an exhibition of pacing, but afte.r tho fifth race he was paraded on the lawn to tho accompaniment of cheering and the band music, "See. the Conquering Hero Conies." The owner, Mr. L. S. Martin, reports that Walla Walla is in capital order, except for a, slight cold, which iB not likely to affect him in his mile match with Harold Logan on Saturday.
