CHRIST AND CALVARY
Many will welcome the publication of Mr. Matthew Henry's " Christ of the Calvary Road." Its writer has got into small compass, some three dozen pages, closely printed, a comprehensive treatment of the central verities of the Christian laith, and done this with a minimum of controversial comment and a good deal of patient exposition of the truth as he sees it. It is both old and new—old in its wealth of Scriptural citation, new in its departure from some repellent aspects of doctrine. The title is made to cover a wider scope than it suggests, yet Mr. Henry's justification of this is complete and satisfying. His readers will find he compels stout thinking, and shows well how it can be done. They will profit exceedingly, in heart as well as in mind. " Christ of the Calvary Road," bv Matthew Henry.
