The Sag bridge evening, civen by the Church Workers' Guild of the He-Iv Trinity Church at Devon port, was well attended by parishioners. The . hostess was Mrs. C. H. Wheeler. was served by the ladies' committee and the prizes were won by Mrs. Seed. Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Turner.
The work of the Community Sunshine School •svas outlined in an address by Mrs. J. C. Blomdeld at- the monthly meeting of the Belmont-Bayswater branch ol the League of Mothers held yesterday in the Belmont- Presbyterian Church. HaS. Mrs. J. Sennits presided over a good attendance of members. Five new members were enrolled. Songs were contributed by Mrs. O'Sullivan and tea •sras served by Mrs. J. Schultx, Mrs. Christinsen and Mrs. CahilL
The weeklv concert arranged by Mrs. Rsebum ana Mr. A. Hambßn was held in ward 27 on Wednesday evening. The programme was provided tinder the cirection of Mrs. Boyle, and consisted of songs, choruses, duos, fancx dancing, etc. Those taking part were Misses Loon Levett, Jean Martin. Mavis Lcraine Guinivere, Valerie Haw, Betty Crew. Thelma Whiteman, Annie rrqohari. Mimia Foley. Special items were provided by Miss Patricia Boyle and Miss Koanm Simeon. The accompanist was Mrs. Boyle.
A Beating of tit l ? St. John's Methodist Women's Guild was held on Tuesday afternoon in the schoolroom at which Mrs. G. I. Laurenson presided. Mrs. W. H. McKinnev interested all present with a talk on her recent trip to the East. A display of Eastern garments and novelties gave much pleasure to all. Vocal solos were rendered fey Mrs. Reeves Currie and Miss Phyllis Crellin and Miss Shenkin gave elocutionary items. The accompanists -were Mesdames McKinney and H. McKenide.
The annua! general meeting o£ the St. Peter Is Women's Club, held in connection with the Anglican Church ait Takapun3, took place in the choir vestry on Monday evening, Mrs. R. Hailey Trill presiding. The report stated that the financial returns for the year had amounted to £B2 net. Matters were discussed concerning a bazaar to be held in conjunction with an entertainment later in the year. The following was the election of officers:—President, Mrs. R. Hailev Trill: secretarv and treasurer, Mrs. W. Hall; assistant secretary, Miss Staires.
