DEATH IN DENTAL ROOMS

MAORI WOMAN COLLAPSES HEART FAILURE THE CAUSE [by telegraph OWN correspondent] NGARUAWAHIA, Friday While undergoing an operation for the extraction of teeth at the rooms of Mr. A. B. Galbraith, Ngaruawahia, Mrs. Maka Reti Patene, a .Maori, aged 19 years, collapsed and died at about 11 a.m. to-day. Chloroform had been ' administered by Dr. D. D. Martin. Every effort was made to revive the patient, but without success. At an inquest held by the coroner, Mr. F. Harris, this evening, '.it ..'was stated, that a: post-mortem examination had revealed that deceased had suffered from tuberculosis. The coroner said, that every pre- > caution had been taken, and he returned a verdict of accidental death from heart failure while the patient was under an anaesthetic.
