Laburnum was removed yesterday morning from Devonport to the western viaduct, where she will be visited this morning by the GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledisloe. His Excellency will inspect the warship and bid farewell to the crew, who will leave for England next week after being on the New Zealand station for-two and ahalf years. Two officers and 78 ratings will leave Auckland by train next Wednesday evening for Wellington, where they will embark on the motor-liner Rangitane, which is to leave Wellington for London next Friday morning.
The relief complement for the Laburnum, three officers and about 80 ratings, will arrive at Auckland from London next Wednesday by the motorliner Rangitata. After embarking the new crew the Laburnum will remain at the western viaduct until next Friday, when she will return to Devonport. On April 20 the warship will proceed to the Hauraki Gulf, where she will carry out 10 days' gunnery exercises. In May she will be docked for cleaning and refitting and early in June she will leave on her usual winter cruise to the South Sea Islands.
