ACTION APPRECIATED
GRATEFUL RELIEF WORKERS THANKS TO COUNTY COUNCIL [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] MARTON, Friday As a result of representations made by the Rangitikei County Council, the Railway Department granted a concession in fares to married relief workers who desired to visit their homes in Wellington during Easter. Over 40 men who are working in camps in Rangitikei took advantage of the offer and at to-day's meeting of the council, three appreciative letters were received from workers. Mr. J. A. Rattray wrote on behalf of men in one camp, expressing appreciation of the action. "I should also like," he wrote, "to mention how much we appreciate the kindly interest taken in ail matters pertaining to our comfort." "Your action we appreciate very much," wrote Mr. J. C. Barnes, on behalf of workers in another cam]). "We will never forget your many kindnesses." Tho third letter came from Mr. A. L. Mayor, who wrote on behalf of the third camp. "I am sure that words of mine," he wrote, "will not adequately convey our gratitude, hut.l am convinced that we will show our appreciation in deeds."
