WAIKATO WINTER SHOW
COMING HAMILTON FIXTURE LARGE ENTRIES RECEIVED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday Preparations for the Waikato Winter Show, which opens in the association's buildings in Hamilton on May 29, are well advanced. The entries received in the dairy section total 1214, an increase of 120 compared with the previous year aud a record for the association. There are 761 entries in the butter section, while in the cheese division there are 453 entries. The show has always been noted for the excellence of its agricultural exhibits, and a special effort is being made this year to improve the standard. Special prizes are being awarded for roots, vegetables and other farm produce, and an attractive array of exhibits is expected to bo made. The singing and elocutionary classes are being raised in status and prominent New Zealand experts have been appointed adjudicators. From every point of view the show promises to he a pronounced success and record attendances are anticipated.
