SUITS AND ENSEMBLES BLACK AND WHITE POPULAR The Auckland Racing Club was most fortunate in having delightful weather conditions for the final day ot the autumn meeting at. Ellerslie. Colours of a more sombre hue than were noticeable on Saturday were a feature of the froeking. Tweed suits and ensembles held pride of place and were, exceedingly smart when worn with tho new quaint berets in matching material. Black and ■white and blue in its varying shades, ranging from navy to powder blue, were the most popular shades to be seen. Their Excellencies the Governor-Gen-eral, Lord Bledisloc, and Lady Bledisloe attended the races and were, received by the president- of the -Auckland Racing Club, Mr. Oliver Nicholson', and his daughter, Mrs. H. M. Rogerson. Her Excellency was wearing a frock or water lily green georgette' under a coat of green wool georgette with deep beige fur collar. Her green georgette hat to match was finished with quilted swathing; Ladv Day, who was in the ViceRegal party, was in a forest green frock under a cocoa brown fur trimmed '/rap and small brown straw hat; Mrs. Rogerson wore a suit of maroon diagonal striped tweed with maroon felt hat and stone-marten necklet.
