SIX FURLON(nS IN 1.11 3-5 MASTER BRI ERLY'S SUCCESS MERITORIOUS WIN WITH 10.0 Features of the second day ol the Auckland Racing Club's Autumn Meeting at Ellerslio yesterday wore the victories of Master Brierly under 10.0 in the H. O. Nolan Handicap and Jonathan in the Huia Handicap, with <).4, in the course record time of lm 11 ;}-5s for six furlongs. Master Brierly von for the second year in succession, as lie scored last year with 7.9, u hen the race Mas known as the Autumn Handicap. Master Brierly and Jonathan were the only first-dav winners to repeat their successes and were the outstanding performers of tho meeting. The Great .Northern St. Leger was von by Red .Manfred, with the favourite Spiral second. Red Manfred was too brilliant for tho opposition at the finish, and rail the last half-mile in <ltj Ji-os. Red Manfred also von the Great Northern Derby at the summer carnival, anti the only three-year-old who has proved his superior over a middle distance is Nightly, who has defeated hint on the three occasions they have met at distances beyond a niiie. The totalisator handled X' 41,191 10s, compared with £13,791 10s on the corresponding day last year, a decrease of .1:2599 10s. The investments for the meeting totalled £7tj,77;3 10s, against i:82,67S last year, a decrease of JL'S9O4. 10s.
