ATTACK OF BRONCHITIS WIFE'S MESSAGE TO ULSTER (Received April 1. 11.35 p.m.) LONDON. April 1 Lord Carson is suffering from bronchitis. His wife srn- the following message to Viscount Craigavon, Prime Minister of Nortlaern Ireland: "Edward is verv ill, but is still holding his own. Tell Ulster.' Lord Cars mi, who is 80 years old, was. appoint!.*! a Lord Justice in Ordinary of the rippG-il Court in 1921. with a life peerage. He resigned in March, 1929. As Sir Edward Carson he had a great reputation and a great practice at the liar and was a noted crossexaminer. H ; sat in the House of Commons as a Conservative from 18J/ to
1021 for Irish constituencies and \vas Solicitor-General for Ireland 1900-06, and Artorrirv-GoncAil 1915. He was in the War Cabinet 1917-18. Lord Canon came into much prominence as a leader of the North of Ireland "reikis" shortly before the war. in connection i\ i til the " Provisional Government of Ulster."
