HOUSEHOLD LORE

Rub glycerine or vaseline over the corks on bottles containing glue, polishes, cements, and there will bo no difficulty in removing them. Instead of washing bronze, wipe it with a clean rag saturated in salad oil. Put the articles in the sun to warm, and then polish with a chamois leather. Beeswax and salt will keep irons as clean and smooth as glass. Tie rv piece of wax in a small cloth for the purpose. When the irons are hot, rub them with the "wax cloth, then with paper sprinkled with salt. When repainting window frames, the main difficulty is to prevent paint from getting 011 the glass. The best plan is to use a narrow brush, and press a. piece of cardboard against tho glass while painting. Take long strokes with the brush in order to get an even coat; short strokes are conducive to blobbiness. Should a splash of paint get on to tho window, it should immediately be wiped off with a piece of rag soaked in turpentine. If allowed to dry it will bo difficult to remove.
