USES OF CHALK
A variety of uses can be found for French chalk. Here are a few of them: Discoloured white fur can bo improved greatly by shaking French chalk into it. Leave for 24 hours before thoroughly beating the chalk out again. If covered with French chalk and wrapped in tissue paper overnight, whito or light-coloured suede gloves soiled felt hats and bags can all be rejuvenated. Brush chalk off the following morning. Precipitated chalk is an old and proven cleanser for the teeth. Bargains picked up at a sale of household linens are often soiled at the folds. These marks can be removed by rubbing with French chalk, leaving for a day and brushing out. If tho chalk is moistened and applied as a paste to mudstains on light fabrics, the stains can usually be removed. Allow to dry before brushing off. To remove grease spots, apply • the chalk to both sides of tho fabric which is spotted, leave for a few hours and chalk will absorb the grease. Grease spots yield to the chalk treatment because the chalk is thoroughly absorbent.
