HERD-TESTING RETURNS
YIELD IN WAIKATO REDUCTION LAST MONTH [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Friday A drop in the average production of cows tested by the Jvew Zealand Cooperative Herd-testing Association is noted in the returns for last month ' compared with the figures for February, 1933. The dry weather during the current autumn would probably account for the reduced yield. Duriug last February, the association tested 110,806 cows, tho average yield being 5581b. milk per cow and 27.071b. butter-fat. The test was 4.85. In February, 1933, 104,777 cows were tested, the average production being 5861b. milk nml 27.321b. fat, with a test of 4.60. There were 96,424 cows tested in tcbruarv, 1932, the average yield being ■lßllb. milk and 22.511b. fat. The test was 4.67. .
