It was stated in tho annual report that all sections of the annual show had been strongly supported and a successful year was experienced. During the year several major improvements were carried out at the show grounds. The membership had shown only a slight decrease. A severe loss had been sustained in the death of two members, Messrs. A. Livingstone and W. W. Livingstone. The statement of accounts disclosed an excess of income over expenditure amounting to £76. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr. "W. H. Ranstead, F. R. Seddon, G. Seddon, W. Thompson, N. K. Taylor, F. S. Veale, H. Whewell, H. "Windsor, P. Bremer, R, Chilcottj treasurer, Mr. H. Windsor. - The new president, Mr. W. H. Miers, is a well-known breeder of pedigree Jerseys. Ho has been a member of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association for 20 years. Last year he was senior vice-president and in the previous year junior vice-president. Mr. Miers is a member of the New Zealand .Jersey Breeders' Council and he has officiated as a judge of Jerseys at many shows. The question of providing a sheep pavilion at the Claudelands Show Grounds was discussed. The meeting decided that 25 per cent of the entry fees in the sheep and cattle classes should be set aside to provide a sinking fund for the erection of a sheep pavilion. It was decided to erect the pavilion this year. TE PUKE ACTIVITIES REQUEST FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS [from our own correspondent] TE PUKE, Thursday It was decided at yesterday's meeting of the Te Puke Agricultural and Pastoral Association to apply to the New Zealand Agricultural and Pastoral Association for the allocation of championships in the Jersey and Friesian breeds, Tho president, Mr. C. L. Luke, thanked tho members for the great assistance they had rendered to make tho recent show a success, and also the exhibitors who had entered so freely. He also thanked tho ladies who had assisted. The president, vice-president and the secretary were appointed delegates to attend the Bay of Plenty conference at Whakatane in May. The president referred to the advisability of including an industrial section in the schedule for the next show, and it was decided that the various women's institutes and the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union be asked to co-operate in organising this section.
