OBITUARY

MR. JOSEPH HUNTER The death occurred in the Auckland Hospital last evening of Mr. Joseph Hunter, of Church Street, Otahuhu, at the age of 69 years, after a brief illness. S'or the past 18 years Mr. Hunter had been accountant to the firm of Messrs. Andrew and Andrew, grain merchants and contractors, Otaiiuhu, and he had been a member of the Otahuhu Borough Council for tho past five years. Mr. Hunter had taken a very active part in church work, being associated for many years with the Methodist Church, He is survived by his wife, three sons, Messrs. F. A. Hunter, S. H. Hunter and J. F. Hunter, and one daughter, Mrs. F. Trenwith, of Otahuhu. The funeral will leave his son's residence, 172 Great South Road, Otahuhu, to-morrow afternoon.

MRS. W. E. SHARP The death occurred in Auckland recently of Mrs. Maria Sharp, wife of Mr. W. E. Sharp, of Calliope Road, Devonport, at tho age of 65 Born in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Mrs. Sharp came to New Zealand at the age of 15 years with her sister, and they went to Aratapu, Northern Wairoa, to the late Captam George Seymour, their uncle. Mrs. Sharp was married there and later came to Auckland. Sho lived here until the time of her death. She is survived by hor husband and five children, Mrs. H. D. Norris, Penhalonga, Southorn Rhodesia, Mr. Joseph W. Sharp, Ellerslie, Mr. John G. Sharp, Sydney, Mr. Edward R. Sharp. Grey Lynn, and Mr. James A. Sharp, Devonport. There are 13' grandchildren.
