WOMEN'S DIVISION Reports of branches of the Waitemata Provincial Council of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union are as follows: Brookby.—The first monthly meeting for tho year was held recently. The competition, best knitted article made from two skeins of wool, was won by Mrs. Green.

Clevedon. —Glorious weather again favoured tho branch on tho occasion of the annual picnic, which ivas held on Mi\ Rcnall's property, Sandspit. Bathing, rowing and sports for the children, and a treasure hunt and nnil driving for adults, contributed to a most enjoyable day's programme. Mangatawliiri.—Mrs. K. McKenzie presided at the March meeting of tho branch. The competition, three best dahlia blooms, was won by Mrs. Hegh, Miss Hegh coming second. Mrs. Lyons gave an interesting demonstration on preserving apples with sulphur. Mercer.—A new branch of the division was recently formed at Mercer. The meeting, which was convened by Mrs. Graham, was addressed by Mrs. M. G. Orr, honorary organiser for tho Waitemata provincial executive, Mrs. Dean, president of the Pokeno branch, and Mrs. Wells, of Pukekawa. The following officers were elected: — President, Mrs. Graham; vice-presi-dents, Mesdamcs Smith, Bourne and Scott; secretary, Mrs. Moorhouse; committee, Mesdames Kerr, Wright, Wilson, Dean, Selwood and Miss Currie. Miss J. Currie was elected honorary musician. Afternoon tea was served, and musical items were rendered by Mrs. L. Wells, accompanied by Miss Currie. Puni.—A garden narty to celebrate the branch's first birthday was held recently at the home of Mrs. W. McNeil, and was opened by Mrs. Noel P. Adams, provincial president. Brisk business was done at the basketware stall for the Blind Institute. Competitions resulted: —"Get to know you," Mrs. Rowe (Mauku); golf putting, Mrs. Parkinson (Patumahoe); stepping competition, Miss Hardy (Pukekohe); feeling and smelling competition, Mrs. Morgan (Pukekohe East). Deep regret was felt at the absence of Mrs. Preese, president, owing to ill-health.
