TWO YEARS IN BORSTAL
BURGLARY AND THEFT [from our own correspondent! WHANGABEI, "Wednesday „ Two charges of breaking and entering houses in Whangarei und stealing clothing valued at £l2 10s were brought against Reginald Arthur Hamblyn in the Police Court to-day. The magistrate, Mr. G. N. Morris, reduced the charges to theft to enable accused to be dealt with summarily. Accused pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant J. K. Robertson said the young man had been living in Whangarei and was not in steady work. After taking the clothing ho left Whangarei and was located in Auckland. He had recently been on probation. , Accused was ordered to be detained for two years in the Borstal at Invercargill. An order was ms,de for the return of the stolen property.
