ANNUAL GARDEN FETE The annual garden party arranged by the Otahubu Holy Trinity Church was held in the vicarage grounds on Saturday, when delightful surroundings, ideal weather and many varied attractions combined to provide an enjoyable afternoon and evening. The opening ceremony was performed by the Mayoress, Mrs. H. T. Clements, ■who was welcomed by the vicar, the Iter. E. J. Stanton,
Numerous stalls were dotted over the lawns offering tempting .wares to the visitors.; During the afternoon the members (if the Girls' Friendly Society presented a number of folk dances and itemii. A. baby show . attracted great attention and the judge, Sister Lewin, declared tlio following awards: —Girls: Under .six months, ..fanet Taylor, 1. Under 18 months, Beverley Carter, 1; Janet Bilsdon, 2. Under two years, Margaret 8a11,.. 1. Boys: Under six months., Charles. Thorpe, 1. Under 12 months, . Roger Harris, 1; Kenneth Taylor, 2. Under two years, Marsdeh Stanton, 1. Selections were rendered by the Auckland Mounted Rifles Band during the sveniug when ithe grounds were illuminated with coloured lights. The success of the day was due to the untiring e'fl'oits of the various ladies' committees which controlled the stalls and sideshows. The stewards assisting in the entertainments were Messrs. A. T. Batgcr, Stanley, G. MoDcll, T. W. Day, J. Sj.lt and C. Olsen,,
