MARKERS REFUSE TO WORK EXTRA PAY NOT FORTHCOMING [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] CARTERTON, Monday An unusual incident occurred at the Wairarapa Rifle Association's meeting at Papawai to-day. The Maori' markers refused to work after six o'clock unless tlmy received further payment. The competitors were down on the mound for the service match waiting for the targets to rise. The demands of the markers were not granted and the match was abandoned.
