GOOD GALLOPS RECORDED COURTYARD AND SOME SHAMBLE [BY TELEGRAPH —OTVN CORRESPONDENT] CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday Conditions wore again very favourable for training at Hiccarton to-day and full advantage was taken of the outside of the course proper, which was open in view of the Banks Peninsula meeting on Saturday. Dollar Prince reeled off half a mile in 411s. He lias done well feince the summer meeting ut Riccarton and is a likely starter on Saturday. Imperial Spear strode over seven furlongs in 1.33 und his stable-mate Sibella ran six furlongs in-1.21. Shatter, picked up by Custodian near the five furlongs post, wiis responsible for an impressive gallop over a mile in 1.11 1-5, the second half taking 51s. Shatter went well throughout, and finished a neck in front of his mato, ,who was not knocked about. M. Kirwan willride Shatter or. Saturday. Variant and Proscenium - reeled off half a mile in 523. The former broke away and had to be held back to her companion over the final stages. Star Raider attracted attention by leading Sam Smith throughout seven furlongs in 1.30 4-5. tho first half-mile taking 50 3-ss. Tout le Monde and The Masquerader kept abreast during a seven furlongs gallop in 1.31 1-5. Ramo strode over seven furlongs in 1.34. Fine Weather accompanying him, and their stnble-mftto Solwit ran half a milo in 00s. Unfortunately Solwit displayed marked signs of his persistent lameness when cooled off and it would appear as if this epeedy gelding will have to be put aside again. Capital Shows Speed Capital showod a nice turn of speed by reeling off half a mile in 49 4-sr. He is. a typical Paper Money* and is endowed with plenty of pace. Cleaner and Red Dance Rot to the end of seven furlongs in 1.31 3-5, and Lady Zephyr, who took 40s for the first three furlongs, covered a similar journey in 1.30. Final Shot galloped a mile in 1.44 2-5. Silver Sight and Quietly w-ero coupled in a six-furlongs task, but the latter tailed off badly over tho first half-mile and although she made up a lot of leeway she was not of much assistance to Silver Sight, who completed the journey in 1.18 2-5. Manetho was not seriously ridden at any part of a mile gallop taking 1.47. Manetho will be tried for the first time over a mile and a-quarter on Saturday, and under lus handy weight, 7.13, should shape satisfactorily. Gayspear broke away from and beat Hostile and Liberate comfortably over halt a mile in 52 2-ss. Gay Robe covered six furl ones in 1.17 2-5, the last half in 51 2-ss. and The Bailiff and Cinders recorded 1.18 for a like task. „ Fast Seven Furlongs Courtyard and Some Shamble finished together, clear of Royal Sceptre, air. tho end of seven furlongs in 1.30 2-5. Niggerhead and Fleeting Glance were restricted to a strong gallop over six furlongs taking l.« 0. Metal Bird, picked up by Weatherly at the seven furlongs and by Golden Dart at the six. covered nine furlongs in .1.56. the last mile in 1.43. Metal Bird finished slightly in front of Golden Dart, with Weatherly beaten off. Metal Bird is very well just now and is a light-weight possibility for the Peninsula Cup. in which he will be ridden by W. Jones. . , Highbrow and Royal Amphora again finished together after recording 1.4 for five furlongs The two-year-old Colombo, by Paper Money from Balina granddam ot Compris, showed promising form by healing two unnamed youngsters over naif a Riding engagements for Saturday include. —M Kirwan, Shatter, Gayspear Quietb, Silver Sight; G Barr Fleeting Glance; H. Dollar Prince, Sibella, was given an easy gallop over half a mile on the course proper and wu«. then trotted two circuits on the sand. Me appeared to move more freely than on previous occasions and the interruption in his preparation may not bo as serious as was at one time anticipated.
