NEW RAIL-CAR

TOUR OF INSPECTION The new rail motor-car belonging to the New Zealand railways, in which the general manager, Mr. G. H. Mackley, has been making a tour of inspection of the main and north lines, returned to Auckland yesterday afternoon from Helensville. Accompanying Mr. Slacklev were Messrs. A. Wcllstead, commercial manager, and G. T. "Wilson, district traffic manager at Auckland. The rail-car left Helensville at 10.80 a.m. and inspections were made at the various stations down the line. At 3.30 p.m. the car, with the party on board, arrived at the Auckland station. The journey will be continued tomorrow as far as Morrinsrille.
