DEATH BY POISONING
MA7AMATA CHEMIST'S FATE [iJV TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] MATAMATA, Thursday The adjourned inquest concerning the death of Frederick Sinton Woodhouse, chemist, of Matamata, was held to-day before Mr. A. J. Tong, district coroner. The evidence showed that deceased had been in his usual spirits on January 18. Next morning he was found dead in the garden by his son. A note indicated that he had taken poison. Gavin Garnet Bell, solicitor, said the previous day lie had advised deceased to file his petition in bankruptcy. This he was loth to do. Though worried, deceased never at any time gave the impression that he would take his life. The evidence of the police revealed that no trace of poison was found near the body or in the house. A likely supply had been found in the shop. Medical testimony was to the effect that death was due to poisoning. A verdict that death was due to poisoning, self-acfrninistered while in a state of acute mental depression, was returned.
