OFFICIAL CONVERSATIONS MINISTERS IN WELLINGTON [BY TELEGRAPH —rRESS association] WELLINGTON, Friday Conversations between the Australian Federal Minister of Customs, the Hon. F. H. Stewart, and representatives of the New Zealand Government commenced in Wellington yesterday, and were resumed this afternoon. This morning the experts attached to the visiting delegation conferred with representatives of the Government departments affected. It is not likely that any announcement as to the result of the negotiations will bo made until they are finished, and then any agreement reached may be subject to ratification by the Governments of both countries. To-night Mr. Stewart will leave Wellington, in company with the Hon. R Masters, Minister of Industries and Commerce, for Waitangi, where he will represent the Federal Government at the celebrations. While in the North Mr. Masters and Mr. Stewart will continue their negotiations. Mr. Stewart will return to Wellington on Thursday, and will, leave on Friday for Australia.
