BOY INJURED AT PLAY

MAYPOLE FALLS ON BACK CONDITION VERY SERIOUS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday A serious accident occurred in the Motumaoho school grounds, near Morrinsville, yesterday afternoon, when a boy named Mervyn Groves, aged nine years, the son of Mr. Walter Groves, farmer, Motumaoho, was injured.

A number of boys were playing cricket in the grounds, and others were swinging on a maypole, which was out of repair. The pole broke and fell on the back of Mervyn Groves. The boy was admitted to the Waikato Hospital suffering from internal injuries. His condition is very serious.
