Jan. 23 The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Sean Lemass, in outlining the Irish Free Stato Government's, industrial programme for 1934, said ho hoped that within a year the country's full requirements in cotton piece goods would be woven from yarn spun in the Free State. He hoped to re-establish the glass industry at Waterford and also pottery, cutlery and rubber goods industries. r lhe Minister added that he contemplated experiments in the production of alcohol from potatoes, and tho establishment of refineries for the extraction of petrol and other products from crude oil, thus securing tho country's independence of foreign fuel sources.
