Dr. Heather Kilgour, of Croydon. Sydney, recently appointed junior resident medical officer at Gympie Hospital, Queensland, was for ten years honorary physician at the Rachel Forster Hospital for Women and Children at Redfern, Sydney, and for seven years medical officer to the Barnardo Homes.

An amazing record has been established in London by Miss Anona Winn, an Australian girl, during the past 18 months. She has played the comedy part in the film "A Constant Nymph," made records for six companies, written five songs all of which are good sellers, adapted lyrics from French and German, played at 13 of London's music halls, and is a leading radio star, having broadcast in every type of light entertainment, concerts, children's liour and television.

A woman who is devoting her life and her private income to the uplifting in a practical way of the Australian aborigine is Mrs. M. M. Bennett, now well known on the north-western coast of the Continent. A few years ago Mrs. Bennett began her work by visiting Port George and Forrest River stations, and in her capacity of nurse became matron of the latter mission. Meanwhile, convinced that tho natives could be trained in handicraft, she taught the women the arts of spinning and weaving, with the result that tho industry has now become thoroughly established.
