BALLOTS FOR LAND
NORTH AUCKLAND AREAS TEN SECTIONS ALLOTTED Fifty-two applications to lease rural Crown lands in North Auckland were considered by the North Auckland Land Board yesterday. After ballots had been taken eight sections in the Ruakaka survey district, Wliangarei County, ranging in area from 50 acres to* 116 acres, and a further section of 59 acres inythe Waiwera parish, 3} miles from Silverdale post office, were allocated. The sections are leasehold with perpetual right of renewal, and the rental is nominal, varying from £1 2s to £4 2s a half-year, representing 4 per cent per annum on the capital value. / ' The Ruakaka sections comprise the balance of the Crown lands in the vicinity of Marsden Point. The land is close to One Tree Point Wharf and about 12 miles from Oakleigh railway station, and is all level open country. Those successful in the ballots were Mrs. M. Sturge, Mr. H. S. Pyle and Mr. N. S. Pyle, and Mr. Milan Slako, of Ruakaka; Mr. W. G. Bradley, of Kaiikapakapa; Mr. P. Barry and Mr. J. MfTrinkovich, of Hikurangi; and Mr. H. W. Col, of Tauraroa. The Waiwera property was secured by Mr. A. A. West, of Northcote. The Land Board also considered seven applications for the lease of two factions of third-class land in the Riverhoad homestead settlement, Kaipara survey district, Waitemata County. No rent or other charges are made in respect of the occupation of these lands, "Mr. A. G. Eastman, of Kaiikapakapa, was granted a section comprising 149 acres, but the other section was not allotted.
