NEW ZEALANDER HONOURED [by'TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Friday According to advice received from London, Mr. Allan Sutherland, of Wellington, has been elected a fellow of the Royal Numismatic Society, -one of the highest distinctions conferred on numismatists in the British Empire. Mr. Sutherland was a member of the coinage committee appointed by the Government last .Y fia r to report on the introduction of the new coinage for New Zealand. He was also a member of the coinage designs committee subsequently appointed to advise the Government on designs proposed for the new coins. He took a prominent part in the formation of the New Zealand Numismatic Society, of which body he is general and numismatic secretary. There is only one other fellow of the Royal Numismatic Society in New Zealand at present, namely. Archdeacon G. H. Gavin, of New Plymouth.
