MONEY COMING IN WELL COLLECTIONS LAST WEEK FAVOURABLE COMPARISON (Received January 11. 5.5 p.m.) British Wireless . RUGBY. Jan. 10 The sum of £8,882,000 paid in income tax in .the first week of the current year is described. as highly satisfactory. The amount compares favourably with the £9,476,000 colleoted in the corresponding week of last year because a year ago three-quarters of the amount payable was due on January 1, whereas this year only half the amount payable is due this month.
