CARNIVAL AT HAMILTON
ANNIVERSARY WEEK-END [FROM OUR OTTX CORRESPONDENT 3 j " HAMILTON, Thursday It was decided at a public meeting last evening to hold a carnival weekend in Hamilton on January 26, 27 and 29. Delegates from various sports bodies stated that they were prepared to organise a variety of entertainments. The Mayor, --Mr. J. R. Fow, who presided, said the prospect of a carnival was welcome, as some people considered Hamilton was not festive enough. The following committees were appointed: Programme committee, Messrs. E. L. Watkins, E. H. Quill, S- Clothier, E. Trevena, A. E. Savage and W. Fenton; publicity committee, Mr. E. H. Quill (convener); transport committee, Messrs. E. R. Roskruge (convener),. W. J. King, N. Holden an d C. H. Leighton; finance committee. Messrs. E. Trevena, K. V. Halliday, S. V. Tyler, D. Seymour and A. E. Sandford.
