FORESTS AND RAINFALL
EFFECTS IN NEW ZEALAND INFLUENCE ONLY SLIGHT [BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] PAHIATUA. Thursday The Dominion meteorologist. Dr. E. Kidson, referring to statements regarding the effect of forests on rainfall, says that if forests have any such effect it must be very slight, and is most unlikely to be important in New Zealand, which is a narrow country with high rainfall and is surrounded by great expanses of ocean.
