ede:n declares MILLS' FIXE INNINGS Interest waned in the game between T.deu and King's Old -Boys after the former declared at 203 for three wickets and the result, a draw, was almost a foregone conclusion. Mills and Postles opened for Eden, Postles monopolising the bowling for some time. Both players settled down in a useful partnership which yiejded (30 before Postles was caught behind. Mills' batting was consistently sound, lie hit freely all round tho wicket, finding gaps in the field for a number of boundaries. After a period of sound batting in which ho kept the ball down ho attempted to force the pace and was caught by McCarthy. His last six scoring strokes were boundaries. Vivian, who followed Postles, gave a short but stylish display before be loft for six. A. F. Weir quickly settled clown to a fast scoring innings during which he hit two sixes. Andrews was the best of the King's bowlers and deserved better figures, while Keddle's bowling was somewhat disappointing. King's first two batsmen, Lewis and McMillan, went early in the game and Pearson and McCarthy settled down to bat 3teadilv. After they had been batting some time Weir was brought on and was successful in breaking the partnership, McCarthy being tempted out of his crease to be stumped by Donaldson. With the advent of Jackson, Pearson continued to force the pace and lifted a s iv . off Weir. Immediately after Jackson hit Mills over the boundary line.
