JAPANESE IN PACIFIC WASHINGTON INTERESTED (Received November 5, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON. Nov. 4 A message from Tokio says the Japanese Governor of the Pacific mandated islands announces a decision to build an aerodrome on Saipan Island in order to study the weather, aid the fisheries and improve communications. This statement has aroused considerable interest in naval circles in the United States as aviation facilities on Saipan would be of military value as a base for scouting operations over the Philippines and the waters surrounding them.
