PENNANT COMPETITION AUCKLAND WINS A GRADE DEFEAT OF TITIRANGI TEAM The play-off of the tie in the A grade pennant, competition between members of the Auckland and Titirangi Golf Clubs whs held at the Akarana links during the weekend, Auckland winning by eight games to one. Following aro the results, Auckland names being mentioned first in each case:— W. S. Ralph beat J. H. Young, 4 and 3; H. Phtmley beat R. R. McCrystal, 3 upd 2; IT. B. Luslc lost to J. M, Coltman. 4 and W. A. Donald beat E. G. Tallin. 3 and 1: J. Mac.Ewan beat F. W. Lucas, 3 nnd 2; E. L. Bartleet heat E. Beehan, 1 up; R. D. Wright beat A. J. Good, 6 and 5; B. Cr. Thomson beat A. M. Goulding, 3 and. J: T. E. Clark beat T. Morpeth, 8 and 1. The captains of the respective teams, Messrs. H. B. Lublc and A. M, Goulding, thanked the Akararia Club for (ho use of its links for (ho contest.
PAPAKURA CLUB The remodelling of the Paptikura Golf Club's course is proposed for next season. Messrs. K. Matheson, J. Elliott and Watts, and Mesdames H. Walters and Walts have been appointed a committee to co-operate with the owners of the land to prepare a report on the question for presentation lo a special meeting of the club in the first week of March next. The club has elected the following officers for the ensuing 12 months:—President, Mr. E. D. McLennan; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. R. MoLennnn, 11. Walters; captain, Mr. K. Matheson; secretary, Mr. T. Robbins; members of executive, Mesdaijies Walters, Urquhart, Messrs. Watts, Elliott. D. IMcLennan and T. McLennan; auditor, Mr. B. C. Carpenter. A credit, balance of /27 was shown by the accounts as at the close of the past season. Subscriptions for the coming season have been fixed at £1 5s for men. £1 for ladies and juniors, and 7h (>d for limited members. PLAY AT MIDDLEMORE CONSOLATION BOGEY MATCH A consolation bogey competition was played by members of the Auckland Golf Club at, Middlemore on Saturday. Heavy rain fell throughout the day and very few curds were returned. The winner was R. B. Wilson, who finished 1 up on bogey. The final of the C grade championship was played, A. M. Gunn defeating 11. Y. Cameron, 4 and 2. In the semi-final of the four-boll, match play tourney, W. B. Colbeck and A. E. M. iikind defeated R. G. Rainger and R. E. Rainger. I up, but the former pair were defeated by C. J. C. Fisher and J. Macky on the 18th green in the final. The final of the intermediate championship between R. G. Grainger and S. S. Wilson will be played on Wednesday. The season will be closed next Saturday when a mixed foursome competition will be played. TITIRANGI LADIES' CLUB Members of the Titirangi Ladies' Golf Club will play a bogey match to-morrow, players to choose partners. Closing day will bo held on November 23, when a four-ball best-ball modal match will be played. Players will choose partners and opponents. PUPUKE CLUB'S CLOSING The official closing of the Pupuke Golf Club's links for the Reason took place on Saturday afternoon, when about GO members attended. The ceremony usually takes place on the first gre' n, but on account of tho rain on Saturday, it was held in the clubhouse. Mr. J. J. A. Howie, president, of tho clutt, congratulated the winners and thanked the ofiicers and grecnkccper for their work during the year. He nleo remarked upon tho sound financial {-edition of tho club.
