C. B. COCHRAN
WORK NOT DEFINED NOTED STAGE IMPRESARIO Since his appointment to Fox Films in an " advisory capacity," C. B. Cochran has become something of a figure in ! the film world. Hi.s precise duties under his arrangement with Fox are still, however, as much of a mystery as ever. ■ It is known that he will co-operate with the American firm when they have a mind to acquire British stage successes. It is known that he is taking a lively interest in films in general. But ! beyond that —nothing. Whether he will i actually produce films himself remains a secret. " I don't know enough about the cinema business to talk about it yet," he said recently, " but I am definitely going over to Hollywood next year, in the late spring or early summer. " I sold 4 Nymph Errant ' to Fox shortly before I joined them, and it may be produced about the time of my Hollywood visit. 1 thought the film of ' Cavalcade ' magnificent. The only other outstanding picture 1 have seen lately is ' Forty-Second Street,' which I suppose must lie the best .production ! of its tyj>e yet made."
