A DAY IN BED

Dear Miss Morton, The bright sunshine on Labour Pay meant picnics and car drives for many people, but to me it meant a day in bed. Still, there were many things to interest, me and pleasant work to do. Looking out of my window I could see the crass and trees shining in their new spring frocks, as if beaming with joy at this first summer holiday. Willows waving in the wind always remind me of old-fashioned maidens with long flowing hair. A little friend came to see me, bringing me some of (he first spring roses. Then I had 11 big mail to answer for now T am a Post Ouide and find heaps of interest in this new work. • With love from your pen friend, Margaret Gerrand, Rotowiiro (age 12).
