CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OHOPE EEACH ATTRACTIONS *BY TELEGRAPH —OWN* CORRESPONDENT j WHAKATANE. Friday There was a goo'i attendance at the annual meeting of the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce last night. The president. Mr. H. G. Rand, presided. The following o Seers were elected: —President, Mr. G. Adler: vico-presi-Sr.TT* Messrs. A. J. Canning and G. Brabant; secretary. Mr. H. 0. Garawav; executive, Messrs. .E. Bridger, K. A\". Beckett, C. S. Armstrong, C. h. Gibberd, H. G. Rand and A. Sutherland. . A committee was appointed to consider the formation of a junior branch of the chamber, and ;t was decided to v.rito to the Auckland Chamber of Commerce for advice in connection -with the master. The question of co-operating _ m a scheme to popularise Obope Beach was considered, and a committee was formed to approach other local bodies r-on'-erned and to rejjort to an early meeting'of the chamber. The unsatisfactory state or the road on Rotoma Hill -■"■ as again brought to the notice of the chamber, and it was decided to write to the authorities concerned urging immediate improvements to the road from the Onepu Junction to the too of Rotoma Hill.
