BUILDING AT KAIKOHE

NEW HOUSES AND SHOPS WORK ON TRAFFIC BRIDGE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] KAIKOHE, Friday Building and renovating operations have been fairly extensive in Kaikohe since the introduction cf the Unemployment Board's building subsidy scheme. At present a block of business premises in brick is practically finished, the erection of a residence in brick and concrete is well under way and at least three new residences are proposed. Renovations are beinj: carried out on various business and private premises in the town. In addition to the ordinary buildings being erected a start has been made on the bridge at the eastern entrance to the township. This structure is to be of concrete and steel, and- provision is made for two-way traffic.
